origins
He comes from the oldest canine families and was the companion of Alexander the Great as well as that of Cyrus and the Phoenician navigators; he animated for a long time the arenas of the Colosseum in Rome. Despite the fall of the Roman Empire, he remained the guardian of the villas of southern Italy and the dog of the farms in Campania. Saved in extremis from extinction, it was not until 1946 that we began to encounter it in exhibitions.
