origins
The Grand Gascogne Saintongeois, in its country of origin also called Virelade according to its creator, is the result of a cross between the Grand Bleu de Gascogne and the Saintongeois, which was created by Baron Joseph de Carayon Latour de Virelade around the middle of the 19th century. Since then, he has been perfected and is now one of the most popular pack dogs in the South of France. It is very fast, accommodating and is particularly suitable for hunting hares, roe deer and stags.
