origins
The Grand Basset Griffon Vendéen is a descendant of the Grand Griffon Vendéen and was created at the end of the 19th century by the Count of Elve. From the middle of the 20th century, we can speak of a consolidated homogeneous breed which was and is still used above all for hare hunting. It comes in two variants defined by the size difference.
