He was selected in Picardy, by crossing the Picardy Spaniel and the Gordon Setter. In recent years, it has been lower and lower and the breed is considered rare, practically on the verge of extinction.
Very good hunting Spaniel, it is a pointing dog which shows a particular predilection for wet grounds. Its intelligence and its docility make it a good companion dog, but it must be remembered that it requires a lot of physical exercise. The Blue Picardy Spaniel adapts very well to children because it is very playful.
