origins
If the Venetian Marco Polo already mentioned the ancestors of the Tibetan Mastiff, the current type is described by Sven Hedin, himself the owner of one of these imposing animals. Many authors consider the Tibetan Mastiff to be the original type of large breed of dogs existing today, but the real proofs are rare. This mountain dog par excellence has preserved its spirited, bellicose, often impetuous character to the present day while constantly radiating dignity. While it was already threatened with extinction, English breeders saved the Tibetan Mastiff as a breed.
