introduction
The Bullmastiff is a mastiff of British origin.
origins
The Bullmastiff was created at the beginning of the 19th century to fight against nocturnal poaching British landowners sought to obtain by crosses between the Mastiff (large and heavy) and an old type of Bulldog (fast and active, a dog suitable for this purpose ). It was then the dog of the game wardens; he had to be able to knock a man down and hold him there while waiting for orders. He was later used as a police dog.
